The Speedmaster Alaska is one of the rarer limited editions from OMEGA with only 1970 examples made. From the time of its release in 2008 many sat unsold in Boutique displays but now things have changed dramatically. The Alaska LE is now among the most sought after references.
As this was most likely a boutique display watch - having been first purchased two years after the release date, I do believe there may also have been some VERY minor touchups done by OMEGA Watchmakers to the polished surfaces of the lugs to remove handling marks. This is a relatively common practice with display watches and I personally have done this kind of work before for Boutique's pre sale. Some minor hairline marks are present on the polished caseback bevel from the bracelet around the word 'Project' (the centre medallion part is perfect).
The original owner reports that it is unworn since purchase.
A chance to acquire one like this will not present itself very often. This Alaska comes as a full and complete set, all of the accessories are included, none have been opened or used.
The red dot is intact on the caseback. It has never been opened or serviced.
Currently running strong, but the regulation is a little out of spec. I personally would not wear this watch, it is an investment piece. As such, servicing is probably not recommended so as to keep it as original as possible.
This Alaska is in near pristine condition and you probably won't find a better one for sale currently.
